About Bad Ass Productions

Thanks for taking the time to look at our website, and I hope you like what you see here. I don’t build bikes for any other reason than I really Bob Small, Motorcycle Builderlove doing it, and the bikes that you see here for sale are the end result of what I do. I always start with a new, stock, Harley-Davidson, and then convert it into whatever idea is floating in my head. The only reason I sell any of the finished products is because I need room in the shop to start constructing the next batch of ideas that I’ve come up with. I use new stock bikes as a starting point for a variety of reasons, and here are just a few:

Insurance: Most insurance carriers don’t even want to hear from you if the words ‘special construction’ are on the title. Plus, there are some (not all), but some, chassis builders out there who are operating without liability coverage, and frankly, could care less as to whether their product is structurally sound, just as long as it sells.

It’s still a real Harley: That means that it has a factory wire loom in it, all factory electrical connectors, and even though the engines are usually highly modified, I make it a practice to use all Harley Screamin’ Eagle high-performance parts in the driveline, so it’s still all Harley. I know, what’s this got to do with anything? What this means to you is that any Harley dealer, anywhere, can work on it or fix it if need be, all the parts and pieces have Harley part numbers, so any dealer or qualified independent mechanic can do anything that needs to be done on the bike with none of the ‘surprises’ that sometimes exist with a lot of custom builds.

Drivability: As an ex-NHRA drag racer, I like horsepower and lots of it, but I refuse to build anything that is ‘touchy’ or edgy to ride. I make it a point that the engine runs on regular pump gas, no fuel additives needed, doesn’t overheat and other than having an aggressive idle, runs as smoothly as a totally stock bike would. It is a point of pride with me that I can hand the keys over for one of my bikes to someone that has no understanding whatsoever of mechanical things, and they could ride it across the country with no problem. That’s the way it should be.

If you have any questions regarding any of the bikes you see here, feel free to contact me.

Thanks,

Bob
